Through guided exercises, you'll discover how to distill complex scenes into their most fundamental elements, emphasizing key shapes, lines, and values. Experiment with the fluid expressiveness of ink, the rich textures of charcoal, and the luminous possibilities of water-soluble media. You'll also be encouraged to explore diverse surfaces, such as traditional paper, the subtle grain of birch panel, the delicate translucency of vellum, and the unique absorbency of washi paper.
